Astros: Berkman to have knee examined today

Astros outfielder Lance Berkman has been doing well in his rehab starts at extended spring training and will be reexamined. If he receives a positive report, Berkman could report to Triple-A Round Rock to continue rehabbing. Astros general manager Tim Purpura didn't speculate how soon Berkman will join the team, but did say they won't rush him into the lineup despite the team's offensive struggles. Berkman has been able to stretch a single to a double and make a tough running catch in the outfield, so needless to say, the strength in his injured knee is slowly returning. He is still on track to return in May.
